Our cherished foundress, Venerable Veronica of the Passion, harboured a deep yearning to unite with the Creator. Her fervent desire to serve humanity led to the founding of the Apostolic Carmel on July 16, 1868, in Bayonne, France. With selfless dedication, courage, and determination, she nurtured this mission with unwavering generosity.

The seed she planted with faith and love has grown into a majestic tree, its branches extending across India and beyond. Divine providence manifested through Fr. Henry Manar, the parish priest of 3rd Mile Upper Shillong, who graciously donated a plot of land to the Apostolic Carmel sisters. Sr. Mirabelle AC, then Provincial Superior, accepted this generous gift with divine grace and laid the foundation for the new endeavour on October 12, 2010. The school was officially inaugurated and blessed by Fr. Henry Manar on November 19, 2012. Carmel School Sadew is one of the many flourishing branches of this mission.

Today, Carmel School Sadew in Upper Shillong is synonymous with value-based education, widely recognized and respected within the community. Standing tall with pride and excellence, it continues to advance towards greater success and all-around excellence for the glory of God. May Carmel School Sadew remain empowered and enlightened as it ascends the ladder of achievement.
