This biblical truth has manifested in the journey of the Apostolic Carmel in Sadew. Providentially, Mrs. Rumalda Rangslang agreed to sell the plot of land adjacent to the school on December 7, 2019. This act enabled the sisters to realize their dream of building a home they could call their own.
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” — Psalm 100:4
With hearts full of gratitude, we acknowledge the Lord’s provision of a dwelling place. The blessing and laying of the foundation were conducted on November 4, 2021, by Fr. Paulose Palamattam, then Parish Priest of 3rd mile Upper Shillong, in the presence of Fr. Henry Manar and Fr. V.T. Jose SDB, the rector and novice master of Don Bosco Sunny side.
After 50 years of dedicated service in the Archdiocese of Shillong, the first house — Carmel Convent, Sadew — was inaugurated on April 10, 2023, by Sr. Maria Diksha, the Provincial Superior of the Eastern Province. We gratefully acknowledge the wonders the Lord has wrought throughout our journey among the people here. Placing ourselves in God’s hands, we continue to strive forward in building His kingdom in this world.
