The Carmel Training Centre, NIOS, was established in 1999 in the picturesque region of Karbi Anglong. On July 27, 1999, the Centre was accredited by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), New Delhi. Since then, we have registered 1,430 students from various districts of Karbi Anglong, significantly improving literacy standards through our daily classes. We are grateful to Sr. Roslinda for her efforts in securing our accreditation.
Initially lacking a proper facility, we received a significant boost when Sr. Mary Theresia wrote a successful project proposal. By 2009, the new building was completed and blessed by Bishop John Moolachira on April 1, 2009. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Bishop for his encouragement and support from the inception of this institution.
We give thanks to God for guiding our pioneers and making their vision of educating the local community a reality. In addition to our NIOS programs, we offer various courses including Babyland, Beautician training, spoken English, remedial classes, and computer education. We aspire to extend our services further to women, youth, and the residents of underserved villages through our outreach and diverse activities.
Under the guidance of Mary, Mother of Carmel, and Venerable Mother Veronica, we are committed to reaching out to the most marginalized and ensuring their access to education and support.
