Carmel Primary School, situated at 19 Deshapriya Park Road, Kolkata 26, was founded on April 1, 1956, by the Apostolic Carmel Congregation. Initially named St. Mary’s Carmel School, it began with Lower and Upper Kindergarten and classes I through IV, offering instruction in both English and Bengali. As enrolment grew, the need for additional classrooms led to the relocation of Classes V and above to 41 Gariahat Road, South. In 2012, the Lower and Upper Kindergarten sections were moved to a new facility at 11 Deshapriya Park, Kolkata 26.
