Asha Deep Trust at Diphu, Assam
Asha Deep Trust has expanded its mission to Diphu in the Karbi Anglong District of Assam, under the dedicated leadership of Sister Sheeja. We offer daily remedial classes for children, ensuring they receive the academic support they need, as well as computer classes aimed at empowering the youth with essential digital skills.
In collaboration with the local parish, we have organized enriching Children’s and Youth Camps, fostering community engagement and personal development. Our youth frequently visit our centre for training in food processing, equipping them with valuable skills for future employment. Additionally, women in Self-Help Groups (SHGs) receive training in detergent powder production, enhancing their income-generating capabilities.
Recognizing the importance of health care, we have initiated programs focused on women and children at Klurdung Parish. Our team actively networks with government agencies to secure necessary medical supplies, ensuring the community’s health needs are met
To promote awareness of social issues, we provide street play training for our youth, enabling them to perform in remote villages and educate their communities. Our Self-Help Group in Diphu is thriving, operating independently and successfully managing its activities, which exemplifies the empowerment and self-sufficiency we strive to cultivate in the region.
