Education
Asha Deep is committed to the holistic development of children in villages and slums. Approximately 800 children attend our centres in Rania, New Alipore, Pirpukur, Brahmapur, and Canning, where they benefit from daily coaching classes, extracurricular activities, and access to medical assistance.
Every Sunday, we offer karate classes, with uniforms generously sponsored by Asha Deep. On Saturdays and Sundays, students participate in computer classes, grooming sessions, and spoken English lessons for a nominal fee of just 30 rupees per month. In the slum areas, all services are provided free of charge.
In addition to academic support, we instil important life skills and values, focusing on health and hygiene, arts and crafts, and sports. Physical training sessions are conducted once a week, and we also organize awareness programs and rallies to promote important social issues.
We celebrate Children’s Day, Sports Day, and Shishumela, encouraging children to participate in various cultural events organized by Asha Deep. Students from Carmel School Gariahat and St. Xavier’s College contribute by interning with us, enhancing the knowledge and skills of our children through their mentorship.
